From UW Health and Wellness student group:
Jack Summit 2017 applications are now open!
Students across Canada aged 18-24 can apply now for a chance to be part of Jack.org‘s fifth annual Jack Summit and to join a national, student-led conversation tackling the biggest issues facing youth mental health today. This year is going to be better than ever with new speakers, workshops, networking opportunities, and collaboration spaces. Students who are passionate about ending the silence around mental health just need to apply online, and Jack.org will do the rest.
Successful applicants will be selected to be brought to Toronto for a 3-day conference event unlike any other in March – with no expense to the student delegates. Jack.org covers the flights, meals, accommodation, and event costs, so top student leaders from across Canada can come together to share their ideas and take action on mental health across the country.
Jack.org is accepting applications until November 20 at 11:59pm. Go to jack.org/summit to find out more information and to apply!

On Nov.2 we are going ALL OUT! PC Premier Brian Pallister has stated that he wants to increase tuition fees higher than inflation to reflect Saskatchewan’s. This means tuition could increase by thousands of dollars! Regardless of the FACT that domestic and international students are already crippled by DEBT!
We demand GRANTS NOT LOANS federally and provincially! We demand public funding for post-secondary education! We demand funding for Indigenous students! We demand regulation for international student fees! We demand THIS GOVERNMENT TO INVEST IN OUR FUTURE! That’s why we’re going ALL OUT on Nov. 2!
If you are a student at the University of Winnipeg, you have academic accommodation from your professors and instructors on Nov.2, so if you have a class at 1:30 p.m. talk to your professors TODAY to receive accommodation. This means that if you have a lab, practicum, exam, test, presentation etc. you can make it up at a later date without penalty or deducted participation or attendance marks!! Faculty are fully supportive of our students because they too believe that post-secondary needs to be funded and not on the back of their students!!!
COME JOIN US at 12 p.m. on the Front Lawn of the University of Winnipeg on Wednesday. Nov. 2!
