Please submit the form below to apply or renew your membership to be a registered/affiliated UWSA student group.

Before starting or renewing your Student Group or Community Group for the coming academic year please review the updated Student Group Policy.

Due to the volume of applications, please expect a confirmation of your status in early October.  Some benefits may be available in the interim.

Start/Renew Student Group

You must fill out this form to propose or renew your student group at the start of the year.
  • Please choose one that best fits your group.
  • Please provide your student number if you are a student.
  • Contact information for office use only. Please include your phone number, email address, and current address.
  • Please describe the purpose of the group and the motivating factors why this group will benefit students at the University of Winnipeg. This section will be used to determine student group status by the UWSA Board of Directors.
  • Please write a paragraph about your group, which can be used as a promotional tool in the Uniter and on CKUW, and as a file reference for the UWSA. Please try to make it as interesting and informative as possible. This may become a very effective recruitment tool for your group. Remember to write your paragraph in third person.
  • Define who can become a member, and how.
  • Please enter a number from 0 to 1000.
  • State the basic meeting schedule for the group over the year and what kind of spaces you use or want to use.
  • Provide a list of URLs or handles where the UWSA can follow and share your material on social media.
  • Accepted file types: jpg, jpeg, png, gif.
  • Max. file size: 512 MB.

Our group members acknowledge that we are not entitled to advocate issues or promote concerns as an agent of the UWSA without first obtaining permission from the UWSA Board of Directors. Our group members will not communicate to any person or organization that we speak for all students at the University of Winnipeg or any portion beyond our groups’ membership through media, communication vehicles and /or other persons.
