13 Fires Winnipeg Water

July 6th, 2016

13 FiresYou are invited to participate in an ongoing dialogue about water rights through 13 Fires Winnipeg.

13 Fires, and the “Reflects in Water” art action invite the public to share in a dialogue about water rights during this month’s Water Fire event. This collaborative event will take place on July 16th at the Stephen Juba Park (Waterfront Drive) from 2:00-5:00pm, and will focus on the lack of clean and accessible water in many First Nations communities across Canada, with a particular spotlight on Shoal Lake 40 First Nation.

During the afternoon, 13 Fires will present speakers from Shoal Lake and Winnipeg water activists, and will facilitate sharing circles about water, while “Reflects in Water” invites the public to participate in creating water stencils along Winnipeg’s Waterfront active transportation route using unpotable water acquired directly from Shoal Lake.

Fill out the Coalition Against Sexual Assault's survey

June 15th, 2016

The Coalition Against Sexual Assault (CASA) is a group of students, parents, staff, and faculty formed at the University of Saskatchewan to protest the institution’s inadequate response to victims/survivors and their families. We are currently trying to capture the current trends in Canadian universities’ responses to campus sexual violence through a brief survey.

The survey can be found at http://www.casa2003.ca, and it takes no longer that 5-10 minutes to complete. Answers will not be linked to identity. When we have the adequate amount of response, we will publish the results in aggregate form on the CASA Facebook pate (found here: https://www.facebook.com/Coalition-Against-Sexual-Assault-CASA-UofS-819505691468949/).
