Campus Poverty Report

October 6th, 2017

We recently sent out a survey to all students through their UWinnipeg email accounts asking students about the costs associated with attending university.

While we realize that one of the major costs to coming to university is tuition, we also recognize that the costs of rent, groceries, transportation, etc., can act as a barrier and cause stress on students.

Survey

We have a launched a survey that is being sent to all U of W students’ webmail accounts. We will use this information to adjust our services and better advocate for our students.  Students’ responses to this survey will be kept confidential. The information gathered will only be analyzed and reported at the group level; individual responses will not be reported.

The survey closes Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017!

Stay Tuned:

We will post the results of the survey here and how as an organization we can better support our students.

Questions:

If you have questions about the survey or this campaign, please email Laura Elsie Garinger at pres@theuwsa.ca

UWSA Health Plan Blackout Period

September 19th, 2017

UWSA Health Plan Opt-Changes and Opt-Outs are now closed!

The Health Plan Blackout Period is wrapping up!

This means during the last two weeks your enrolment in the UWSA Health Plan is not active, but you are covered by Green Shield. During the Black Out Period, you will not be able to create an online Green Shield account to make a claim or have any services be direct billed. Any eligible expenses you’ve incurred during this period will need to be claimed after this period has ended.

This means you do not have to worry if your Green Shield online account is down, it will be up and running soon and you can make retroactive claims for any coverage used from September 1, forward! The UWSA and UWinnipeg Financial Services are working diligently to ensure all students are correctly billed and enrolled on the Health Plan. Thank you for your continued patience.

To view your Summary of Benefits, please visit the UWSA Health Plan page here!
