Geography and Enviromental Student Association (GESA)
GESA aims to get students involved in activities outside the classroom. We work to create awareness about events happening in the school and around the city related to our field of study. Students are also made aware of learning and employment opportunities related to their degree. We want students to have the chance to meet each other on a social level so that connections and friendships can be built throughout their studies at UWinnipeg and beyond. Our quaint student lounge is a great place to do homework, get help with assignments, and chat about whats happening in the department(s). Each year GESA awards an eco-grant up to 2500 dollars to support environmental stewardship within the University of Winnipeg community. It can be applied for by anyone with some affiliation with the university (ie. Students, Faculty, Alumni, etc.).
Membership: Anybody can join: we encourage all students from Geography and Environmental Studies, anyone who is taking geography or related sciences, to come out to the meetings and get involved with what we do.
