Rhetoric, Writing, and Communications Club
The RWCC started as a virtual club that met on Zoom during the 2021 Winter semester to combat feelings of isolation amongstRhetoric students. The club connected students enrolled in Rhetoric classes that never had the chance to socialize outside of the classroom. Lastyear’s restricted social interaction reminded us of how valuable student communities are to academic life. The virtual hang-outspace offered a place to gather and talk about school, homework, and life beyond academia. This year the club has a chance to meet in person and expand its network to more students, promoting the Rhetoric department, hosting events with guest speakers, from past Rhetoric students to lecturers, assist with assignments, and explore the citytogether. With the support of the Rhetoric department, students will gather in the new plexiglass room in the Writing Centre todevelop a community within the department.
Students with Rhetoric Majors/Minors are encouraged to join, but the RWCC is open to all.
Starting September 15th, 2021, from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm, the RWCC meets every other Wednesday in the new plexiglass roomin the Writing Centre (3G10 and 3G11). The club may switch to virtual meetings hosted on Zoom depending on COVID-19restrictions. You can find more information about the RWCC, including a club calendar, on the Rhetoric department’s webpage.
