DESCRIPTION:The volunteer-driven UWSA Foodbank was created to provide regular food supplements during the year to University of Winnipeg students and community members in need. Though it operates primarily in conjunction with Harvest Manitoba\, the Foodbank actively seeks additional donations from university groups and other community-based organizations.\nCheck-in begins at 2:00 p.m. every Friday in the Bulman Student Centre. Please arrive no later than 3:00 p.m. to check-in. Food distribution for registered clients starts at 3:00 p.m.\nWalk-ins are welcome. Walk-in clients are served in a lottery draw system and must check-in between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Walk-in distribution begins at 3:30 p.m.  Unfortunately\, we cannot guarantee food quantities for walk-ins.\nStudents and community members can sign up for UWSA Foodbank by calling Harvest Manitoba at 204-982-3660 or emailing appointments@harvestmanitoba.ca. Please keep your Student ID handy before you make the call. DESCRIPTION:The University of Winnipeg Students’ Association (UWSA) Student Leader Award is established to recognize and honour students who have demonstrated exceptional leadership\, dedication\, and significant contributions to The University of Winnipeg campus community. The award will be given to three candidates. \nFill out the form here: https://theuwsa.formstack.com/forms/leader_award \n\n​DEADLINE to nominate: Thursday\, April 16 by 12:00 p.m. CST \nWhat does the recipient receive: An award and a $500 cash award. \nWhen will the recipient be notified: If they are chosen they will be notified before Thursday\, April 23 AND they will also receive the award in-person on Friday\, April 24 in the evening. \nWho can you nominate: to be eligible for the award\, a candidate must: \n\nBe a current member of the University of Winnipeg Students’ Association\, which would be a current student at the University of Winnipeg (part-time\, full-time\, or PACE)\nIMPORTANT NOTE: Current members of the UWSA Executive\, Board of Directors\, and UWSA Full-Time/Part-Time staff are ineligible to be nominated for the UWSA Student Leader Award to maintain impartial adjudication.\n\nWhat are the qualifications to nominate somebody: Candidates must demonstrate significant contributions thorugh at least two of the following points below: \n\nEvent Leadership: Evidence of leading\, organizing\, or significantly executing a campus event\, campaign\, or initiative.\nAttendance & Engagement: High level of documented participation in UWSA-led events\, University Events\, Community organizations associated with the University and/or the UWSA\, or UWSA student groups.\nImpact on Student Life: A description (quantified where possible) of how their work improved student life (e.g.\, “Increased club membership by 20%” or “Led a food drive that collected 500 items”).\n\nWho is part of the selection committee? \n\nThe selection committee will be the UWSA Executive Committee\n\nChair of the Committee: Alan Saji Koshy (President) – pres@theuwsa.ca\nMembers of the Committee: Harleen Deol (VP Student Affairs)\, Harmandeep Ghataura (Part-Time/Mature Students’ Director)\, Omega Budhathoki (VP External Affairs)\, Ronel Shapiro (Business and Economics Director)\, Teddy Rubenstein (Emerging Leader Director)\, and the UWSA Executive Director\n\n\n\nFor any questions please email: pres@theuwsa.ca
